I am a systems analyst and writer living in Baltimore County, Maryland with my wife and three sons.

My work is in government, where I spend my days analyzing data, building dashboards, and helping people solve problems they did not know were technical until they were. I find that work interesting. I also find that it leaves me wanting something the spreadsheets cannot give me, which is why I write.

This site is where I think out loud. About books I am working through, things I noticed, ideas I cannot let go of. I am not trying to build an audience or sell anything. I am trying to stay sharp and leave something behind that sounds like me.

I follow the Ravens and Orioles with the dedication they probably do not deserve. I read on Kindle, walk more than I used to, and am slowly becoming the kind of person who has opinions about coffee.
