About

Tom Irwin Jr.

This site is where I think out loud. I’m not building an audience or selling anything. I’m trying to stay sharp and leave something behind that sounds like me — books I’m working through, things I noticed, ideas I can’t let go of.

I’m drawn to systems that become simpler over time. Some of that happens through software, some through writing. Both are attempts to make sense of complicated things.

By day I work in systems analysis and operations. The problems are interesting. The writing is where I process what the spreadsheets can’t hold.

I’m Tom Irwin Jr. I live in Baltimore County, Maryland, with my wife and three sons. I read on Kindle, spend too much time thinking about systems, and rarely miss a Ravens or Orioles season.

I'm an active member of the Project Management Institute (PMI) and am currently preparing for the CAPM certification. Project management has become a natural extension of my work designing systems, improving processes, and leading operational improvements.

If something I wrote resonated with you, I’d enjoy hearing from you.

I read every message, even if I can’t always reply immediately.
